An article by The Verge claims that, despite efforts to clean up their online store, the popular online retailer Amazon still can't cope with the number of counterfeit products that are being sold on their platform.

Alex Hearn, reporter for The Guardian supports the claim and states that despite the company claiming daily record revenues for £400m a day, the company's platform is still rife with potentially dangerous counterfeits and other knockoff goods, despite years of attempts to crackdown on the sales of illegal goods.

Most of these sales were found to be coming through the Amazon Marketplace - a feature allowing third parties to use the company's platform to sell direct to customer. It's scary once you think about it. It's no wonder that the majority of people who refuse to use remanufactured toner cartridges have been led to that decision because of an illegal counterfeit toner cartridge.
